I’m Davide Bertolino, the person behind Press & Pillow.
I have worked in PR and communications for more than nine years, across luxury hospitality, travel, lifestyle and culture. After working with Hilton and Belmond, I founded Press & Pillow to give independent projects the same strategic rigour and care in every relationship — with no intermediaries and no hand-offs.
Experience spanning global brands and independent projects
Before founding Press & Pillow, I worked in communications for international brands, including Hilton and Belmond. As PR Manager for Hotel Splendido, Splendido Mare and Bagni Fiore Beach Club in Portofino, I led media relations, storytelling and press campaigns for some of the most recognised names in Italian hospitality.
That experience shaped a method grounded in editorial judgement, precision and direct relationships with journalists and editors. Over the years, my work for global brands and independent projects has resulted in coverage across Vanity Fair, Condé Nast Traveller, Forbes, Vogue, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Sky TG24 and many other media outlets in Italy and internationally.
Coverage, however, is not an end in itself. It creates value when it strengthens a project’s positioning, builds its reputation and makes it recognisable to the right people.
Why I founded Press & Pillow
I founded Press & Pillow around a simple belief: independent projects deserve the same strategic rigour and care in building relationships as major brands, delivered through a more direct, agile and personal partnership.
Press & Pillow is intentionally boutique. I personally lead every engagement and take on only a limited number of clients, so I can understand each project in depth, take ownership of every decision and remain closely involved in the day-to-day work.
Why the name Press & Pillow?
I chose a name for the business rather than using my own.
Press is the craft: media relations, press office work and visibility.
Pillow is how I approach it.
Pillow stands for care and hospitality — the exact opposite of PR that feels cold, corporate or distant. I believe communication should be handled with the same care a hotel brings to welcoming its guests: warmth, attention and presence. That is how I work with journalists, and how I work with you.
Culture has shaped my perspective
Cinema and culture have profoundly shaped the way I see and tell stories. I have been attending the Cannes Film Festival since 2006 and, over the years, I have learned to recognise what makes a story stand out: a point of view, a sense of context and the details that stay with you.
I bring that same perspective to my work. I look not only at what a project wants to communicate, but at what can genuinely matter to an editorial team and engage its audience. This is how hospitality, travel, experiences and culture become distinctive, memorable stories.
Every engagement is led directly by me: from positioning and press materials to pitching and day-to-day relationships with journalists and editors, in Italy and internationally.
