PR and media relations for projects with a story worth telling.
PR strategy, press office services and media relations in Italy and internationally for independent hotels and distinctive hospitality, travel, cultural and experience-led projects. Every engagement begins with clearly defined positioning and turns it into stories, editorial angles and pitches tailored to the right publications and journalists — never generic communications sent out indiscriminately.
Press & Pillow is a boutique PR and media relations consultancy founded and led by Davide Bertolino, specialising in independent hotels, boutique hotels and distinctive hospitality, travel and cultural projects. Every assignment is handled directly by the founder, from strategy to day-to-day relationships with journalists and media outlets.
What working with Press & Pillow includes.
PR strategy, press office services and media relations.
I build each strategy around the project’s identity, objectives and media landscape. I identify the most newsworthy stories, develop tailored angles and pitches, and personally manage relationships with journalists and editors in Italy and the most relevant international markets.

How we work together
Every engagement is shaped around the needs of the project, but the process is clear from the outset: discovery, strategy, execution and ongoing dialogue.
Introductory call. We discuss the project, its goals and whether there is a strong basis for working well together. No generic sales pitch and no commitment.
Tailored proposal. If there is a good fit, I set out the scope, priorities, timeline and investment in a proposal built specifically around the project.
Once the engagement begins
Immersion and strategy. I explore the project in depth through briefings, materials, meetings and, where useful, an on-site visit. From there, I define the positioning, priorities and a tailored plan of action.
Execution and management. I turn the strategy into focused press office and media relations activity, alongside content creation where included. I personally oversee every stage and adapt the work as new opportunities emerge.
Monitoring and optimisation. I track responses and results, share regular updates, and adjust priorities and activity as editorial opportunities emerge and the project evolves.

Frequently asked questions
1. What kind of projects do you work with?
I mainly work with independent hotels, boutique hotels and distinctive projects across hospitality, travel, culture and experiences. Before preparing a proposal, I assess the project’s positioning, editorial potential and whether there is a strong mutual fit.
2. Do you work with international hotels looking for PR in the Italian market?
Yes. Press & Pillow works with international hotels and hospitality projects seeking visibility in the Italian media market. I develop the positioning, press materials and media relations strategy specifically for Italian journalists and publications, with one-to-one pitching tailored to each outlet and editorial audience.
3. Who will work on my project?
Every engagement is handled directly by me — from strategy and writing press materials to pitching, follow-ups and relationships with journalists and editors. To provide continuity and genuine attention, I work with only a limited number of clients at any one time.
4. How long does an engagement last?
It depends on the objectives and the nature of the project. For ongoing positioning and media relations work, I generally recommend a minimum commitment of six months. Specific campaigns, launches and events may instead require shorter, more focused engagements.
5. Can you guarantee media coverage?
Final editorial decisions always rest with the media, so I never promise coverage in specific outlets. What I can do is set measurable objectives, build a realistic strategy and guarantee the delivery of every agreed activity: identifying newsworthy stories, preparing press materials, tailored pitching, follow-ups and consistent management of media relationships.
6. What does it cost to work with Press & Pillow?
I don’t offer standard packages. The investment depends on the objectives, length of the engagement, markets involved and scope of work. After an introductory call, I prepare a transparent, tailored proposal clearly setting out the scope, timeline and fee.
